Women and beauty are synonymous with each other and 2014 saw women take to beauty and skin care in a big way. No longer are women looking at just quick repairs but are now focusing more on using make –up and beauty products for a better skin and are focusing a lot on their skin care regime to look fresh and beautiful naturally, rather than succumb to surgical or non-surgical procedures which can have drastic side effects too.

Let’s look at some of the major up-coming beauty trends this year so that you do not feel out of place and can follow the latest trends, straight from the runway and red carpet celebrities:

1.Go natural

Women are going all out for natural products with no chemicals to protect their skin from any harm. You may get some fabulous natural products by using nykaa coupons. However be careful as all that claims to be natural or organic need not necessarily be one. Read the back label carefully and scan the list of ingredients to be sure. Also have a look at the product reviews and the brand image before you try it on yourself.

2.Try virgin coconut oil

Virgin coconut oil is pure coconut oil that is extracted from a wet coconut. It is excellent not only for your skin but can also be consumed for losing weight and boosting your immunity. It gives a natural glow to the skin, takes away all dryness and prevents skin allergies and infections. Coconut oil can also replace the oil in which you cook and do wonders for your body.

3.Experiment with Bright Pink Lipstick

Enough of the nudes and earthy shades; this summer look bright and beautiful with a dash of pink on your pout. It would add color to your face and you would feel and look energetic and feminine. With these bright lips you would not need any other make-up on the face. Just team it with a nude make-up on the face and look rocking. Even a simple garment would look bright and colorful when teamed up with a bright pink lipstick.

4.Dewy Skin

Another hot favorite look on the runway this year has been the dewy look. Fresh, glowing, dew skin is a hot favorite amongst all. You just need a good base, concealer, a dash of peach blush and a suitable lip color and you’re all set to look dew-drop fresh.

5.Use your makeup for skincare

Opt for make-up that promises to repair your skin with powerful skin treatments, like a foundation that acts like an antioxidant or concealers that are anti-aging agents etc. You can get best offers on make up at SaveMyPocket and save quite a bit of money. Do not buy make-up just for looking dolled up. The bottom line is you should apply only that product which is good for your skin and apart from making you look beautiful, it helps repair the damage in your skin.

Dandruff (with the exception of pimples) is possibly the one of the most common cosmetic problem faced by a huge portion of the population. And although dandruff is not as repulsive as body odor or bad breath, it remains a major turn off for most people. So what can ordinary people like us do to make the dandruff go away?

Well the first thing at solving any problem is to first understand the problem, right? So after hours of searching on the internet, here’s what I’ve found about dandruff and some of the ways people contract it and how one can get rid of it.

WHAT CAUSES DANDRUFF?

Dandruff or Seborrhea is the shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp which is actually pretty normal. Yes, you heard it right, dandruff is normal. An average person should shed about 487,000 cells per cubic centimetre after detergent treatments. However, there are people that can shed double this amount due to several factors including skin oil (sebum) and metabolic by-products of micro-organisms to name a few.

Genes can also play a part for dandruff susceptibility as there are people who are more susceptible to dandruff while others have genetic traits that make them more resistant to it. Nonetheless, any person suffering from dandruff shows the same symptoms, that is, aside from the flaking of the skin, dandruff is also associated with itching and at times rashes with dry flakes and red spots.

HOW TO TREAT DANDRUFF?

For mild cases, dandruff can easily be treated with the use of over the counter products such as anti-dandruff shampoos, coal-tar preparations and Ketoconazole. For more severe cases, additional products such as clobetasol solution and other scalp nourishing products maybe applied.
I’ve also stumbled upon some easy to follow practices which anyone can follow to help treat and prevent dandruff. Here are some of them.
  • Shampooing everyday may help reduce scalp oil which in turn can lessen the occurrence of dandruff. Almost all known shampoo brands today offer an anti-dandruff variant so this will definitely not be a problem. However, as not everyone’s skin can suit a specific brand, try to experiment on which type and brand of shampoo works best for you.

  • If the current shampoo you are using doesn’t help, you may want to try to switch brands or shampoo type. This helps by preventing yourself from developing a form of resistance to your shampoos active ingredient.
  • Another thing you might want to try lathering twice. The first lathering will get rid of excess oil and flakes of skin and will allow the active ingredient of the shampoo to penetrate the skin and do its work during the second washing.

  • You might also want to stop yourself from scratching your head whenever the itchiness from dandruff sets in. Of course, this is because frequent scratching can cause wounds on the scalp which in turn makes it difficult to use specialized shampoos on your head.

  • Try to lessen the use of hair styling products. Although there is no proof that hair products can cause dandruff, lessening the use of these products can prevent oil build up on your scalp which in turn may prevent dandruff.

You've been waiting for an event for months and with just a few days away, you prepared everything you need. Then all of a sudden, here comes a visitor that will ruin everything. A ZIT. Raise your hand if this happened to you at least once in your life. Or if you haven't experienced this, then you're lucky *insert bitter here*.  Hehe. You're really lucky if you've never ever as in ever experienced having a zit.

If you are a girl with occasional pimple-popping-out moment and  want to get rid of those unwanted zits on your face and shorten your agony,  please keep on reading. I will share with you some zit busters that you can use to remove those unwanted visitors.

These are products that I've tried and tested.

#1 QUICK FX : PIMPLE ERASER.

IN MY OPINION : Yes, it worked and helped me a bit in drying my pimple. However, you'll have to wait for about 4-7 days before it can actually clear it out. This product also promised to diminish and reduce dark spots due to scarring but in my case, it didn't lighten my pimple mark. You have to apply this product twice a day, in the morning and at night.

2 things that I don't like much about this product is the texture and smell of it, because it reminds me of Sebo De Macho. Which I think makes sense because Sebo De Macho is used to lighten up our scars right? So they probably have the same ingredients? I'm not sure.

One sachet of QUICK FX PIMPLE ERASER(10g) costs less than a hundred pesos. It is worth it, if you ask me. If you are not in a hurry to dry out your zits, I recommend you try this one.

#2 The Body Shop's TEA TREE OIL

IN MY OPINION : It is effective in drying up your pimples, especially the BIG RED ONES. You just have to apply this twice a day as well, and it will dry up your pimples. When I used this product, it dried up my zit in about 3-4 days which is a little faster compared to the first product.

I am also not very fond of the smell of this .

I am so lucky to have bought this one on SALE. I got it for 200+  pesos at The Body Shop MegaMall. I think the original price of this is around 400-500. I'm not really sure but if you know the ORIGINAL PRICE of this product, please feel free to let us know on the comments below.

#3 Garnier Pure Active

IN MY OPINION : This product is really effective. Not only because it helps you get rid of pimple, it also helps you in preventing it. I highly recommend you use this product if you have an emerging pimple or if you have breakouts.

This product is endorsed by the gorgeous, Georgina Wilson.

Just a random question, if this product can positively and will absolutely make you look like Georgina Wilson after using it for weeks, will you buy it?
The facial wash has beads which can help clean your skin thoroughly. Okayy, again, I  don't like the smell of this but since it prevents me from having breakouts, I will just ignore the smell.

Is this worth it? For me , yes, it is because I can really see some changes with my face. A 50ml Garnier Pure Active costs around 70-90php. You can wash your entire face with a tiny bit. So a 50ml goes a loooooooong way.

#4 Bench's Acnedot

For the sake of those who doesn't know, Bench not only offers RTWs and fashion accessories. They also have beauty products that are OH SO AMAZING. Acnedot was introduced to me by my fellow TFL blogger, Carol.

IN MY OPINION : This is probably the easiest one to use out of all the products I listed here because you only need to pull it off from the plastic and stick it on to your pimple. You can only use this if you have an emerging/existing pimple on your face.

You can use this after washing your face at night and leave it until the next morning. It will dry up your zits easily. The only thing that I don't like about this is that sometimes it easily falls off and it's not sticky enough to stay on your face.

Overall, I recommend this product because it's easy to use and it is very effective for those stubborn zits.

It comes in 8 pieces per sachet. I only have 4 here because my brother used the other four.

One sachet of Acnedot costs around 20-30php.

These are usually placed by the cash register. You can ask the cashier if they have one, most of the time they are sold out. I am actually very impressed with their skin care line because they are very effective.

But I think the most effective thing to remove those unwanted zits is to take good care of your skin, prevention is better than cure right? Although, I know that there are cases that they can't really prevent zits because of their blood or other reasons. But in case that you can, please do your skin a favor =) Your skin is worth the time.

How about you? What products do you use to remove that unwanted zit? Share with us by leaving a comment below!

They say that if it’s summer, less is more when we do our makeup. As much as possible, let’s stay away from dark eye shadows and heavy makeup. Instead, let’s try very light makeup and go for that sun kissed look!

I listed some random products below that you can use to help you achieve our sun kissed look. This can help cut your makeup time in half and be ready for summer.

1.           Concealer -  If you have imperfections that you need to cover especially your dark under eye circles, use concealer to hide them. There are concealers with very light coverage that you can use.

2.       Moisturizer with SPF – Moisturizer with SPF are very good for our face since it can protect us from the sun.  It is also better if you use tinted moisturizers since it can double as your foundation/face powder. They can also make your face look flawless and natural.

Olay Anti Aging Cream with Touch of Foundation

CLINIQUE Tinted Moisturizer

3.       Waterproof Mascara – Use clear mascara on your lashes to open up your eyes. Since it is clear, you will not worry about it melting.

4.       Bronzer - Applying bronzer on your face will be good way to fake that tan and give you an instant sun kissed look.

Bronzers

5.       Lip Balm/Lip Tint – Since Haring Araw is hotter in summer, we need to keep our lips protected by using lip balm with SPF and/or lip tint.  Aside from protection, it is like a finishing touch to our sun kissed look.

Benetint by Benefit

If you think you need more than these, feel free to add more! Add a bright eye shadow or a peachy blush on to your cheeks. But keep in mind that we want to look fresh and sun kissed!

Lots of love this summer for y'all,
Phipay <3

Are you ready to hit the beach this summer?

We all know that summer is just around the corner and this is one of the most anticipated seasons every year. As we plan our trip , we should also plan the things that we need to bring with us before traveling. So here’s a list of items that you should stash on to your beach bag!

1. Sunblock Lotion.  Be sure to toss this in to your tote before hitting the beach for skin protection. It is very important for us to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun not just during summer time, but all year around.

2. Sunglasses.  Another part of our body that we need to protect? Our eyes.  So put on your fab pair of sunglasses and strut your stuff. It does not only give protection but it adds up to your style too! It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.

3. Lip Balm. Bring with you a lip balm with SPF. When I was younger I didn’t know that our lips can darken when it gets too much exposure from the sun. Lesson learned, so be sure to bring  with this with you whenever you leave the house.

4. Flip-Flops. Okay, you don’t want to go to the beach wearing boots do you? Give your pretty feet a break this summer too! It doesn’t have to be super pricey , it can be a 50 pesos worth of cute flip-flops from a bazaar and it will still work.

5. Shorts. A fab pair of shorts should be on the list too! One of the most comfortable thing to wear during summer.

6. Tank Tops/Plain White Tees. These are the perfect things to partner with your shorts. Tank tops can give you comfort and style, but if you aren’t into tank tops, you can wear plain white tees. They can be comfortable to wear during summer time too.

7. Umbrella. If you have a car of your own then I would suggest you need not bring this one. But if you are like me who takes a bus or MRT on the way to work, you’ll need this one for sun protection(or there will be occasional rain at times, even if it is summer time).

8. Cologne. You have to have this one, this will help you feel fresh the whole entire day. Perfumes are sometimes too strong for summer,  so I'd prefer cologne.

Now that you know what you need this summer, get a hold of these products and you're all set!

Lots of love,
