Are you at the point in your life where
your hard work finally paid off and you can now leave the house you grew up in
and live independently? Congratulations
to you if you answered “yes.” You are now about to start a new life where you
fend for yourself, you can do what you want in and with your house and you can
have that “I’m cool enough to live by myself” feeling.
Although
looking for a perfect home is a fun activity, it can be a little challenging as
well since you would have to consider a lot of things such as:
Size. Since you would be living alone, you should
consider how big you can manage to maintain with regards to cleaning, repairing
and the likes. But of course, you want a space that would fit your lifestyle
and hobbies as well. Example you collect action figures or books, then of
course, you want a space for where you can put them without your home looking
cluttered. Choose something smaller than
a usual family-sized house but would still give you the amount of space that
you want.
Accessibility. As a bachelor/bachelorette, you will
probably be always on-the-go and are hardly at home, so naturally, you will
want your place to be accessible enough to be able to get to work on time or
party hard on a Friday night without having to worry about the distance of the
club to your home.
Party-friendly. Most single people love to party but don’t want to be out all the time because some like to be the ones to hold the sessions. You may also be the type to hold small get-togethers and slumber parties. If you are, then of course you would want a bigger space to have your friends come over and a studio-type may not cut it.
Affordability. You have to consider that payment for your
new home would come every month for a few years so you have to consider its
affordability as well. Independence also means paying the bills and rents by
yourself so keep that in mind as well.
Future
Plans. You probably don’t want to live alone forever so when choosing a place to live, you have to consider whether it is temporary or not. Do you plan on living in your purchased home even after deciding to marry and just expanding it when you have kids or is it literally just a temporary place for a bachelor/bachelorette? It always pays to think ahead so you should do the same when you are looking for a new home.
Think about the aforementioned before
purchasing a new abode and you would surely find the perfect home for you.
